Piana-Arkoudorema-Limpovisi
Just 1.5 h from Athens we begin our hike in the beautiful village of Piana, which is nestled on the mountain side of Mount Mainalos. Passing through the forest, we reach Arkoudorema, a village abandoned since 1928. Deep within the ravine, we explore the ruins of old houses and the preserved Church of Arkoudorema, along with a restored stone fountain. The green moss covering the stones creates an almost magical, fairytale-like atmosphere. Our hike concludes in Limpovisi, the village where Theodoros Kolokotronis, a national hero of the Greek Revolution, was born and raised.
Total Distance 7km with an elevation change of 300 meters.
